Corona’s airport to reopen temporarily

CORONA – The Corona Municipal Airport will reopen for a few hours today and Sunday to let pilots get their marooned planes out and to make it easier for crews to clean up the damage from recent flooding.

Burbank, Calif., council to try again for airport pact

BURBANK, Calif. — After meeting seven hours on a proposal to govern future development at Bob Hope Airport, the City Council failed to reach agreement early Wednesday and will try again next week.

While the flood waters have receded, the silt left behind from the flood at the Corona Airport remains. Many hangars on the West End of the field were more than 10 foot underwater. Silt, in some areas reaching 8-10 inches, covers everything. Water, electric and sewer have been non-existent since January 11. City crews are working to get water and sewer back on-line, with hopes of achieving this goal by Friday, January 21.
