TSA and DHS Announce Merging Border Flight Crossing Procedures

September 10, 2009 — In an effort to reduce the security paperwork burden of international travel, two Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agencies announced that they have merged their border security programs.  The Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) International Waiver program will be folded into Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS), following a commitment made at EAA AirVenture 2009 by TSA’s new General Aviation Manager, Brian Delauter, and CPB’s APIS Program Manager, Eric Rodriguez to collaborate improving the border crossing procedure for general aviation pilots.
