The California Pilots Association assists cities and counties in maintaining their public airports. Each public airport such as the Delano Airport is part of the state and national transportation systems. Our Association members are concerned about a proposed use of Delano Airport property for an athletic facility.

EAA Vintage Aircraft Chapter 33 will host their fifth annual Open House at Flabob Airport (CA) on May 15th. The event, which is free and open to everyone, expects to attract nearly 200 antique and classic aircraft, a few dozen vintage cars and hot rods, along with 500 to 1,000 people.

LONG BEACH AIRPORT ASSOCIATION SPEAKS OUT AGAINST HOUSING

The Long Beach Airport Association stands in opposition to Boeing Realty’s preferred (2,500 housing units) and alternative (1,400 housing units) plans for residential development within the proposed PacifiCenter complex. While we support many elements of the PacifiCenter concept, we feel such residential development, virtually on the airport, as proposed by Boeing realty, is inappropriate. Research and development activities, light industrial/warehouse, office space, and even some limited retail, as well as a hotel, are good uses for this property, and would be compatible if not complimentary, to the airport, its business community, and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Meeting Notice for Friends of Concord Airport

Supervisor DeSaulnier will address pilots on Monday, April 12, 2004 at 6:00 pm in the old Terminal Building. The meeting was originally called for airport tenants to discuss hangar leases, however the supervisor wanted to address pilots, in response to unwavering criticism of his plan to “develop” the Buchanan Field property.
