House Committee Approves $550M in Funding for Jets

The House Appropriations Committee has approved funds that will amount to $550 million for eight jets to replace seven aging and more expensive business jets that are used by federal officials. The jets include a Gulfstream V and Boeing 737 jets, and the purchases still need to be approved by the Senate. The Wall Street Journal
Editor’s Note: It appears that Congress finds it much easier to criticize business aircraft usage by business than by themselves.Update: It seems that an embararssed Congress pulled this from the budget. Look for it to be quietly reinstated.
