The South Lake Tahoe Airport, FAA, Civil Air Patrol, our airport volunteer group and Superior Aviation are sponsoring a mountain-flying clinic at TVL June 18-20. The basic program is as follows:

LOCATION: Lake Tahoe Airport (TVL) South Lake Tahoe, CA
PROGRAM: the program will consist of:
There will be a no-host get-together on Friday night, location TBD. Ground school on Saturday morning, with topics presented by CAP mountain qualified instructors, and FAA representatives from the Reno FSDO. There will also be handouts from AOPA and FAA on mountain flying. Lunch will be included in the registration fee, and will be served by the airport restaurant, Chase’s Louisiana Bar and Grill Flight familiarization opportunities will be available beginning Saturday afternoon.
Participants will be required to provide their own aircraft. The familiarization flights will not qualify as dual instruction, unless agreed upon by the instructor before each flight. (Insurance issues) Flight familiarization will continue Sunday morning, if necessary.
A spouse/family program is also in the works, although not formalized at this time. Lodging will be available at reduced rates for participants, but arrangements must be made through the airport office.
FEE: The fee for participants will be $50.00 / participant. This fee will cover all handouts, lunch, ground school, and a T-shirt. Instructor time for the flight familiarization will also be covered.
