The Nevada County Airport Commission is Seeking Applicants

The Nevada County Board of Supervisors is seeking interested persons to serve on the Nevada County Airport Commission. Currently, there are two vacant positions requiring representatives for Supervisorial Districts 3 and 4. This Commission advises the Board on the planning, maintenance, development and operation of the airport and airport facilities which are, or will be, owned, controlled or leased by the county; studies and makes recommendations on developing the airport and airport facilities in Western Nevada County; works in preparing a preliminary and final budget annually; and studies and recommends Federal, State and other funds available to the County for the development of airports and airport facilities. The positions will be appointed by District 3 Supervisor, John Spencer, and District 4 Supervisor, Robin Sutherland, to represent each of their districts on County airport matters. Applicants must be a resident of either of these Districts and appointees will be required to file a Financial Disclosure Statement and sign and Oath of Office prior to serving.
For those not familiar with the areas covered by each of these districts, District 3 covers the areas of the City of Grass Valley, Cedar Ridge, Highway 49 Corridor, Brunswick Basin and Squirrel Creek; and, District 4 covers the areas of North San Juan, Penn Valley, Rough ∓ Ready, Spenceville, the Highway 20 Corridor, and Lake Wildwood.
