San Diego airport pledges to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
The Associated Press
SAN DIEGO-San Diego’s main airport has adopted measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The agreement reached Thursday with California Attorney General Jerry Brown comes as the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority plans to add 10 terminal gates, expand taxiways and make more room for parking cars and aircraft. The airport will replace shuttle buses with electric or alternative-fuel vehicles and installing solar panels on new buildings and paved areas.
Brown said the agreement will help California meet its targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
