The Sacramento (CA) Bee
The Yolo County Airport has a new operations manager who is expected to help expand services and opportunities for the aviation community. Ron Larson, who has 32 years experience in public and corporate airport operations, was recently appointed to the post, according to a news release. Larson previously worked as manager of terminal operations for the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. Before that, he worked for the Sacramento County Airport System and the United Parcel Service, domestically and abroad. “Mr. Larson’s experience and accomplishments will result in an expansion of services at the Yolo County Airport with new opportunities for the aviation community,” General Services Director Ray Groom said.
The Yolo County Airport is a publicly owned, general aviation airport, open to the public and located about 4.5 miles west of Davis. The airport is mostly used for general aviation by crop dusters, flying schools, skydivers and flight training activities initiated at other airports.
