Airport considers rate adjustment

The Truckee Tahoe Airport District will be looking into changes to rates charged for airport facility uses, such as airport-owned hangers. In reviewing a rates adjustment, the district performed a cost analysis and compared its charges to current market levels, according to a Truckee Tahoe Airport District release, and is seeking public input as well.

Airport board of directors President Kathleen Eagan said in a release that community input would be a “vital component” of the process. Airport General Manager Dave Gotschall said it is important to not only get feedback from affected pilots, but from the local taxpayers within the airport district.

A study conducted by the independent consultant Aviation Management Consulting Group was reviewed by the board of directors on Feb. 22, and a final recommendation for the rates and charges adjustment will likely occur at the April 26 board meeting.
