Study Shows Authors’ Lack of Aviation Understanding

A new study indicating that more than $2 billion in federal funding was granted to 3,100 airport projects it called “low priority” reveals only that the group behind it, Subsidyscope, knows little about aviation, according to this editorial. The group notes that numerous small airports receiving funds accommodated fewer than one paying passenger per year, demonstrating its lack of understanding about small airports’ roles for firefighting, business travel, air ambulances and various other purposes.
