Watsonville Airport is a Wonderful Asset

In 1942, the City of Watsonville paid $93,000 for 287 acres of land to be used for development of the Watsonville Airport. The U.S Navy leased the land from the city in 1943 to support the war effort. The Navy completed the construction of the airport runways and ramps and operated the airport as NAAS Watsonville from 1943 to 1947.
