Truckee Airport Seeks Airport Manager

TRUCKEE, Calif. – Mike Scott will step up as interim general manager at Truckee Tahoe Airport, as the search begins to replace Dave Gotschall. Gotschall announced his resignation Aug. 27 after nearly nine years as general manager; effective Sept. 30, he heads to Reno Tahoe International Airport as executive vice president of operations and public safety.

The airport board at a Sept. 9 meeting selected Scott, assistant general manager, to fill the role until another general manager is selected.

The board will take public input on the selection process at the Sept. 24 board meeting at the North Tahoe Conference Center.

“The board is inviting public comment on what attributes the public would like in a general manager, and public input on what process people think the
district should use in the hiring process,” Scott said.

Board President Bill Quesnel said part of the question posed to the public is whether the new general manager should come from within or from outside
the district’s existing staff.
