Dear Governor Davis,
I am very concerned over your proposal to transfer any money from the Aeronautics Account to the General Fund.
The loss of those funds would have a devastating impact on the transportation system.
The funds are needed to support the General Aviation Airports, which are critical for local communities. They are used for emergency medical, law enforcement, disaster relief, agricultural and environmental services. General Aviation Airports provide the training for future pilots, and mechanics.
California’s air transportation system needs to be properly maintained and updated through capital improvements.
The California Legislature should be adding funds to the Aeronautics Account, not deducting them.
