Two scholarships were awarded on May 28th this year at the Sonora High School. The recipients were Wesley Durnall and Benjamin Adriano. They each received $1000.00 to continue their education toward an aviation career. Shirley Harms and Clay Farlow presented the certificates. When they matriculate this fall, TCAA will honor their certificates with checks from the scholarship fund. Columbia Airport Fly-In Activities: TCAA served 103 full breakfasts and 116 Tri-tip Dinners during the Luscombe Fly-in May 16th. This was followed by serving 54 breakfasts and 180 dinner meals Friday May 30th and Saturday for the Bellanca Club. The Fathers Day Fly-in event was also a success. We served 308 breakfasts Saturday June 14th. That evening, 139 spaghetti dinners were served. On Sunday 278 breakfasts were served due to public access of the event. This marked a return to having activities Sunday morning. Allan Wallace deserves much credit for managing the Fly-in. Also, the sponsorship of our local radio station, KVML, provided very good publicity. The TCAA generates its funds from these fund rising events.
