Editorial by Jay White, President California Pilots Association
President Bush is causing serious disruptions of aviation operations by imposing flight restrictions and prohibitions. Restricted and prohibited areas that are imposed summarily by the President’s handlers are interfering seriously with use of aircraft for business and personal uses. Business plans made months in advance must be cancelled when the President decides suddenly and arbitrarily to place large areas of airspace off limits to legitimate users.
The nation’s economy in its present fragile state cannot afford this interference.
Can this interference be tolerated when the President’s flights have nothing to do with his duty, but have politics as their sole purpose?
