Hello, I am a private pilot and I fly my Cessna Hawk XP out of OKB. I am a member of Calpilots and also of Oceanside Airport Association. I was the first ASN Volunteer for AOPA. I am continuing to actively promote the airport. At present I am teaching an Aviation Internship Course at the airport for a 17 year old student at the Oceanside School of Business and Technology, which is an alternative High School.
I have also been active in the Young Eagles program.
Other news–the city continues to plan for hangars. They got as far as doing basic ground work for 21 hangars. Foundations and utilities will go in this Spring HOPEFULLY and 10 hangars will be erected.
A new full time airport manager has been assigned, Harold Davis, and he is planning to put in a small pilot supply shop run by the city, again HOPEFULLY this Spring.
