On Wednesday, April 20, 2005, the LA County Regional Planning Commission voted overwhelmingly to retain Agua Dulce as a public-use airport. By a 4-1 margin, the Commission voted to keep the Agua Dulce Airpark operational. The Commission also voted to modify the Airpark’s special use permit, approved in 1960, and directed planning staff to work with the airport owner to clarify and adjust some conditions in the Airpark’s permit.
Agua Dulce Airpark owner, Barry Kirshner thanked the Commission for its thoughtful deliberations and said he looked forward to working with the community and county staff.
“Today the Commission recognized that Agua Dulce Airpark is a community asset and valuable resource. For the past five years, Agua Dulce Airpark has been involved in the community and we look forward to continuing our efforts,” said Kirshner.
