Local pilots association changes its name.
At its general meeting on July 21, the Amador County Pilots Association voted to change its official name to the Amador Aviation Alliance. This name change was a direct result of the organization’s goals of expanding public outreach and aviation-related commerce in Amador County, as well as establishing a new affiliate member category for businesses. The AAA membership elected a new board of directors to oversee and guide the organization, whose first action will be to hire an interim executive director to manage the organization on a day-to-day basis, interacting with local government officials, the Federal Aviation Administration, businesses and the public.
The AAA is a private, nonprofit, public-benefit corporation dedicated to promoting and protecting aviation-related assets and interests in Amador County through public awareness, education and political action. Membership is open to pilots, aircraft owners and businesses in Amador County.
