Welcome to the California Pilots Association’s 2011 Annual Meeting Planning Page

Date: Saturday October 15th

Place: Hiller Museum on the San Carlos Airport, San Carlos California – Aviators Note: San Carlos Airport lies underneath the SFO Class B Airspace – please plan accordingly.

Time: 10:00AM – 2:00PM
This year’s meeting will not disappoint – we have lined up a great speaker and discussions, and once again will be providing lunch and refreshments as part of the meeting.

And, everyone attending the CALPILOTS Annual Meeting will receive a free 2GB thumb drive loaded with pertinent airport and aviation information to make it easy for you to take it home with you, and anywhere else you might need this valuable information. Just the thing to take along to your local aviation meetings and to educate yourself or others on the importance of your airport(s).

Special Speaker: Max Trescott – Max has been designated by the National Association of Flight Instructors both as a Master CFI and a Master Ground Instructor. He is a frequent speaker at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, and Sun ‘n Fun

The topic will be “Using Technology to Make Flight Planning Easier and Your Flight Safer“.

The iPad and applications such as Foreflight and Wing X Pro are becoming the standard in flight planning and monitoring enroute flight – not to mention up to the minute weather. Once you experience them you understand why their popularity has grown so fast. This is your chance to learn how about this technology, or have your questions regarding it answered.

Come to the meeting to see it close up, get some hands on experience, and get all of you questions answered. You will be amazed at the paradigm shift in flight planning and monitoring these new tools have brought to general aviation.

Hotel Accommodations: There is a hotel right on the field if you want to make it a weekend with the family.

10:15 – 10:30am	GA Advocate of the Year Award 2011 – Marc Santacroce for his work on resolving the now infamous AB48 fiasco which eliminated Flight Schools/Instructors from AB48 provisions which would have costs thousands and brought flight instruction in the state to a halt
10:30 – 11:45am	Airport Grants – Carol Ford Update on what is happening at Santa Monica Airport – Ed Story Web site update – renewals membership benefit – Larry Chapman Update on Power Plants and Airports – Andy Wilson
11:45- 12:30pm	Lunch Break – Refreshments/Snacks provided
