This happens more often than people realize. The airport commission is supposed to do the appropriate thing for the community and the airport. Some politicians, however, tend to favor development regardless of potential noise and safety issues – for reasons unknown.
Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane is calling for the resignation of Airport Advisory Commissioner John Washington for complaining to the Federal Aviation Administration about the City Council’s decision to allow an apartment complex to be built near Scottsdale Airport.
