Past Environmental Study Shows Airports Are Not Significant Polluters

After 9/11, in the several days when no aircraft could fly, air pollution experts made a quick effort to collect air samples from monitoring sites that existed around 4 or 5 airports (LAX, ORD, STL,And, I think, DCA & BOS). The results — with no aircraft pollutants being created — did not show a decrease in pollutants correlated with the absence of aircraft operations.
