Do you know the diameter of your propeller? If you don?t, read on, because it has a very important effect on noise outside your aircraft. We are continually faced with noise complaints at airports, and some of them are warranted too.

On August 10 at the Watsonville City Council will be voting whether or not to close runway 8-26 at Watsonville Airport. The reason for the closure vote is that a developer, the City Manager, City Planning Director, and several Council people want to build a shopping center and 2500 homes off the departure end of runway 26. Runway 26 is the second most used runway at WVI. These people refuse to adopt the Watsonville Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan (based on the State Handbook (January 2002)). They want to create another Reid Hillview situation.

Air Cargo in Holding Pattern At Southern California Logistics Airport

VICTORVILLE — The projections are rosy, but the runways are quiet.

Southern California Logistics Airport is part of an Inland Empire consortium of airports that expects Southern California air cargo tonnage to rise from about 2.7 million tons a year to 8.4 million tons by 2030. The Inland Empire airports expect their cargo will come as Ontario International Airport reaches its peak.
