Good News!
County Supervisors George Miller and Ellen Tauscher have written a letter to Marion Blakey, head of the FAA, stating very strongly they do not want to see the Buchanan Airport closed. The letter is dated Jan 22, 2004 requests the FAA’s position on this issue. I do believe the tide may be turning.
There is not a single elected official (outside the Supervisors) that is in favor of closure. Supervisor Mark DeSaulnier is out there alone on this one. All of this is a result of the lobbying efforts by people who want to keep the airport open.
Perserverence pays off.
Keep smiling & flying
