Standford Study of Pilot Performance in Regards to Aging

I am a Research Assistant for Stanford University and am working on a study that is examining pilot performance in regards to aging. The “Age 60 Rule” for retirement in Part 121 of the FAR?s was established with “the objective of reducing aircraft accidents attributable to the effects of pilot aging.” However, reviews of accident records by the FAA suggest that the “Age 60 Rule” cannot be justified by accident data alone.

Our study is hoping to answer some of these unanswered questions. I am looking for participants for this study and am hoping you may be able to place a link from your web site to ours, http://www.stanford.edu/~kcastile/aviator/flyer.html for recruiting purposes.

Thank you for your consideration to the above request.

Kind Regards,
Katy
