The Santa Ynez Valley Airport Authority has sponsored an Aviation Scholarship awarded to one outstanding youth in the Santa Ynez Valley. The Scholarship provides a financial credit to apply toward the completion of a private pilot license (value estimate $8,000).
California Board of Equalization Clarifies Tax Exemption

In a letter dated March 9, 2004 the California Board of Equalization notified all county tax assessors that owners of aircraft of historical significance would not be required to show a certificate of attendance for 2003 to qualify for a personal property tax exemption.

One of the most desirable pieces of land in Contra Costa County doesn’t have much curb appeal — it’s 600 acres of dowdy asphalt in Concord with some hangars and two runways built by the military during World War II and handed over to the county in 1947 as surplus property.
