Welcome to the California Pilots Association's web site

Welcome!

Our web site is modest. We realize it needs to be more user friendly and interactive, we are working toward that goal. We post appropriate California General Aviation Airport news, and report special airport events as they are provided to us. You will also find interesting educational, and entertaining articles.

If you visit our web site frequently you will stay current on the aviation happenings around the state. We invite you to announce your airport events, airport improvements, or issues in a timely manner for all to see, using our web site ?Submit an Article? utility.

Mission:
The main mission of the California Pilots Association is to promote and preserve California’s General Aviation Airports. By doing this, we also make General Aviation stronger for the state and the country.

First formed under in 1949 under the name California Aero Federation, an IRS tax exempt 501(c)(3) status was approved in 1983, and in 1986 the California Pilots Association (CALPILOTS) Chapters were given 501(c)(3) status under the CALPILOT’s group exemption letter.

CALPILOTS’ Board Members are dedicated volunteers who work very hard supporting, protecting and promoting California?s Airports. Our membership is made up mostly of pilots, although anyone with an interest in aviation is welcome to join us. In fact, just as any other volunteer organization does, CALPILOTS needs new members to insure that California’s Airports and pilots are treated fairly and equitably.

If you are not currently a CALPILOTS member won’t you join us? You will find a printable application form on the web site, which you can download, print at home and send in. It is that easy.

Please do your part to insure that this very important part of California’s Transportation Infrastructure, its airports, remains active, healthy and available to future generations of Californians.

Thank you for your consideration and time.
