Events for Big Bear Airport Air Fair Taking Shape

Big Bear Airport District manager Jake Godown informed the board at the meeting March 3 he is in the process of planning for the Big Bear Airport Air Fair, slated for Aug. 20. A meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 8, to form event committees. Godown said he has been talking with officials at Edwards Air Force Base about the possibility of a fly-by; he has also made arrangements for a sail plane act, aircraft displays and remote-control plane demonstrations. The district will be seeking sponsorships from local and regional businesses to offset expenses.
The Big Bear Pilots Association is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, March 8, to elect officials and discuss involvement with the Air Fair.
