The flight of a lifetime: Take off time for youngsters at Watsonville Municipal Airport

Pilots now have an opportunity to help the Recreational Aviation Foundation keep a valuable California airstrip open to the public.

Sacramento International Airport has received an $8 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration to help finance recent expansion, Rep. Doris Matsui announced Thursday.

At which Southern California airport can you walk right up to planes, visit a nature garden, see a vintage hangar, go on a 2-mile hike and afterward enjoy a bison burger, while taking in a panoramic view of the ocean?

REDDING — When a local group purchased IASCO Flight Training last month, keeping the commercial pilot school in Redding, plans to add a parallel runway at Redding Municipal Airport throttled up.  And building a third runway could mean changes for the Redding Dragstrip, which has operated a quarter-mile track east of the airport since 1953.
